![]() ![]() I think that a lot of people may be more inclined to see this on DVD so I am hoping that it would turn into a cult film and sell a ton. It makes complete sense that a sequel would not be greenlit until the studio sees how the DVD/Blu-ray sales turn out. Lussier jokingly said: "Can we tease it? Nobody lives in the next one."įarmer chimed in by saying: "No, no no no, we're going to be ruthless in the next one." They go on to tease a little info on the story: We've certainly got a story in mind that would be fun." You're lookin' at a 170 mph hit-and-run, a head bursting open from a sawed-off shotgun blast, skewering a redneck with a broken baseball bat, a nekkid, bloody Satanist chick packing heat, throat-slitting, Amber Heard in a catfight, machete-fu, car door-fu, truck-fu, hoe-fu, and Tom Atkins firing a Goddamn automatic rifle. "It could happen, depending on how well the DVD and the Blu-Ray do. Briggs would have an aneurysm tallying up these drive-in totals. The other one is a scene that scene with Bill Fichtner. One, that is very brief, is sort of an argument between Todd and Amber that comes just before Amber and Todd are having a fist fight out in the parking lot. It's unspeakably awful.MTV interviewed Drive Angry director Patrick Lussier and writer Todd Farmer in honor of today's DVD release. It's a less self-indulgent grindhouse movie than Death Proof, but that doesn't even improve it in any sense really. The format went on sale in Japan in 1995, in the United States, Canada, Central. It also features an annoying array of unrealistic characters, an inconsequential narrative and doesn't even work on the lowest common denominator action B movie thriller level. DVD-Video is a standard for distributing video/audio content on DVD media. DRIVE ANGRY - DVD By Nicolas Cage,Amber Heard,Charlotte Ross - VERY GOOD - 6.73. So aside from the fact that it's directed badly, acted terribly and has a script that appears to have been written by an adolescent 12 year old. The action sequences are somehow unbelievably dull, even despite the fact it bombards you with set piece after set piece and extreme amounts of repetitive explosions. Firstly it's narrative is incredibly laughable and has no charm whatsoever, and it's attitude towards women is appauling. It's nothing you haven't seen before even if your looking for trashy exploitation. Other than that, there is no reason to see this movie. But I will say there were only two reasons I kept watching the film, because it is so badly plotted, so predictable and so stupid, and it was simply to ponder at the mystery as to why Nic Cage took the role in it, and to see if it would turn out as catastrophic as Death Proof. I think it's safe to say that we've all got used to the idea of Nic Cage appearing in trash like this, and we've accepted it because sometimes it's the only redeeming feature of the ridiculously film's he appears in. The only positive aspect of Drive Angry is the engaging supporting performance of William Fichtner's, but other than that, this is nothing other than totally repulsive garbage.
